Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank!

1 in 7 individuals in our area is food insecure. Here at the Foodbank, we are helping to improve the lives of those in our community facing hunger, but we can’t do it alone. Join us in the fight against hunger today!


Volunteer Opportunities

Our normal volunteer hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm. A typical volunteer shift lasts two hours.

Please note, you must be at least 10 years old to volunteer. Youth volunteers age 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Warehouse Opportunities

Volunteers have a hands-on experience sorting, inspecting, relabeling or repackaging donated food.

Office Opportunities

Volunteers assist with filing, computer data entry, mailings and other essential administrative duties.

Nights & Weekends

Warehouse volunteer opportunities are available on Saturday mornings, 8:30am-11:30am (except holiday weekends) and on the first and third Wednesday evenings of each month, 5:00pm-7:00pm.

 

Neighborhood Distributions

Volunteers have a hands-on experience loading and unloading groceries and assisting clients at monthly onsite food distributions.

Special Events

Volunteers assist with events, activities, campaigns and food drives throughout the year.

Volunteer Registration

We've created a simple two-step process that will help you register to volunteer, and find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your schedule.


Individuals can create an account to our Volunteer Information Center by completing the appropriate application below.


Once your account has been created, you may log in to our Volunteer Information Center to self-schedule your volunteer opportunity at the Foodbank.


Please complete the group request form below, and a Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to confirm your group’s volunteer activity.


In order to ensure we can accommodate your group, we'll work with you to schedule your volunteer opportunity before you recruit volunteers to join you.
