July 9, 2020 - Foodbank welcomes back volunteers

After months of missing our dedicated and hardworking volunteers, we’re excited to announce that Foodbank volunteer opportunities resumed on a limited basis on July 6, 2020. Please make note, at this time we’re able to accommodate adult and corporate groups of no more than 10 people. We cannot accommodate youth groups, however minors, ages 10 and up, can volunteer with a guardian.

Volunteer opportunities will look slightly different than before to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, as safety is our utmost priority. We require volunteers to wear a mask covering their nose and mouth, wash their hands before beginning a shift, and stay home if experiencing any symptoms or if COVID-19 exposure has occurred. Volunteers will be spread out throughout the volunteer center to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Currently, we’re inviting volunteers back to the facility:

  • Monday-Friday for individuals from 8:30am-3:30pm with a break for cleaning from 12:30pm-1:30pm.
  • Monday-Friday for groups from 9:00am-11:30am and 1:00pm-3:30pm.
  • First and third Wednesday evenings from 4:30pm-6:30pm.
  • Saturdays from 8:30am-11am.
  • We’re actively recruiting volunteers for the Neighborhood Distribution, held the second and fourth Thursday from 1:30pm-4:30pm in July and August.

To promote a safe experience, space is limited for all volunteer opportunities. To ensure a space is open, it is important for all volunteers to sign up for a time slot prior to arrival.
