Foodbanker since 2013

“The lack of food or insufficient access to food for an individual or a family can be at best disruptive or at worst harrowing. The challenge of food insecurity knows no boundaries. A sudden loss of income, a medical emergency, cumulative impacts from choices made by someone or for someone. The Akron Canton Regional Foodbank has been at the center of overcoming obstacles in the sourcing of food for all those in need. Food producers, retailers, individuals, and organization donors of time and treasure, have been consistently supportive of this effort. It is a distinct privilege to serve in this financial leadership role.”

In 2013, Tim joined the Foodbank’s team, bringing extensive experience and expertise in finance, accounting, operations and strategic planning. His career includes leadership roles in public accounting, corporate finance, and executive management, providing him with a comprehensive perspective on financial stewardship and organizational growth.

Today, Tim serves as Advisory Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the Foodbank’s financial operations and helping ensure the organization has the resources, systems and infrastructure needed to advance its mission. He brings a strategic and disciplined approach to financial management, supporting long-term sustainability and responsible stewardship of community resources.

Prior to joining the Foodbank, Tim spent his early career in the auditing practice of an international public accounting firm auditing publicly traded and privately owned companies in distribution, manufacturing, retail and service industries as well as not for profit organizations. He later served in accounting, financial reporting and analysis functions with a Fortune 500 energy and resources company. He went on to serve in CFO and general management roles for companies, primarily in retail, distribution, and industrial contracting.

Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The University of Akron and is a Certified Public Accountant. He also completed senior management development coursework at the University of Michigan and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Outside of the Foodbank, Tim has been active in the business and civic community through organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, Saint Hilary Parish Finance Council, City of Fairlawn Planning Commission and the Fairlawn Community Improvement Corporation.

Tim and his wife, Elaine, who is a volunteer at one of the Foodbank’s network partners, live in Fairlawn. They are the proud parents of four adult children. Outside of work, Tim enjoys reading history, biography, and philosophy, maintaining a workout regimen, and traveling with his family.
