The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is currently recruiting one AmeriCorps VISTA, Produce Referral Program Coordinator to join in our fight to end poverty throughout our eight-county service territory. The AmeriCorps VISTA program is Volunteers in Service to America, which is a national service program where you commit to serve for a full year with our Foodbank. The Produce Referral Program Coordinator will research best practices and create tools/processes to launch a pilot produce referral program in partnership with local health systems to address diet related disease and the fact that many patients have limited access to fresh, nutritious foods.
Produce Referral Program Coordinator job duties include:
- Work with local health systems and Foodbank staff to create guidelines for products available through the pilot program
- Assist in the creation of an inventory management and monitoring system to ensure compliance with food safety requirements
- Create and refine materials to assist health system partners in making referrrals
- Create and refine a data tracking system to monitor the number of referrals given and the number of referrals used.
- Develop a case study identifying the stengths and weaknesses of the pilot program
- Host education sessions with Foodbank staff and other stakeholder groups regarding outcomes of the pilot program
- Perform other duties, as assigned

Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years old
- College graduate (preferred)
- Comfortable with Office 365
- Passion for community service
- Able to track and analyze data and present the results
- Comfortable with written communications and public speaking
- Access to reliable transportation
- Proficient in preparing and executing effective communication strategies, both verbal and written, to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
- Able to research, analyze and troubleshoot problems - able to apply learning appropriately
