Walmart's partnership with the Foodbank is a cornerstone of our commitment to supporting the communities we serve. By working together, we are able to help fight hunger and ensure that families have access to nutritious food. This collaboration reflects our core values and our dedication to making a positive impact beyond our stores.

Year after year, Walmart continues to demonstrate its commitment to fighting hunger in our region by being recognized as one of the leading food donors to our food bank. In 2024, Walmart was the second largest food donor and its support was up 17% from the previous year.
Every week, a Foodbank semi-trailer makes 49 visits to Walmart locations across our eight-county service area to pick up perfectly edible and nourishing bakery, dairy and deli items and fresh produce. These highly perishable items are made available to food programs in the Foodbank’s network immediately upon arrival.
Walmart also donates an assortment of frozen meat products and a variety of shelf-stable items.
Additionally, Walmart partners with Feeding America for the national Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign. The annual spring donation campaign includes sales-activated supplier donations and financial donations collected at the register by sales associates. These donations stay local and come back to the Foodbank. In 2025, this campaign raised more than $72,000 for our food bank, helping to provide enough food for 216,000 meals.
Over the years, Walmart has strengthened its relationship with the Foodbank by bringing its associates to volunteer. Last year, while sorting, packing and distributing food to families, they met a single mother who shared how the Foodbank had been a lifeline for her family during a difficult period. She expressed gratitude not only for the food but also for the sense of hope and community she felt from the volunteers.
“The experience was transformative for our team,” said Terra. “Many associates mentioned that seeing the direct impact of their efforts inspired them to continue volunteering and advocating for food security. Our community is our family, and we want to support them in any way possible.”
The Foodbank is grateful for its collaborative and extensive partnership with Walmart.
