For Atlantic Food Distributors’ owners, Stan and Tiffany, food is at the forefront of their everyday lives. Their family has been in the foodservice distribution business for more than 50 years, making their partnership with the Community Harvest program a natural fit.

“Access to food is a basic human need that many of us take for granted. Hunger is 24/7, 365 days out of the year. We need to make it a point to contribute regularly to this ongoing problem,” said Stan.

Stan and his family have many years of experience in the restaurant business, and therefore understand how much food is typically thrown out at the end of each day. That’s why they have been committed to Community Harvest’s mission of rescuing prepared and perishable food for nearly 10 years through supporting the Celebrity Cuisine fundraiser, the Harvest Moon Run, Operation Orange and providing fresh produce to local hunger-relief programs.

“We’re a faith-based company, and as such, we believe it’s our responsibility to make a difference and to be a beacon for this community.”

It’s because of partners like Atlantic Food Distributors that the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank can continue to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families struggling with hunger.
