Communities of all shapes and sizes have been impacted by COVID-19, but there’s a hunger-relief program in Canal Fulton making a big difference for community members.

“We’re a pretty active town considering we’re sort of small,” said Margaret, current director of Canal Fulton Community Cupboard. Margaret has been involved with the pantry since 1984 and enjoys seeing neighbors in her community, many of whom are elderly, take home nourishing food each month.

“There are people who are struggling, and hunger is out there.”

The pantry serves approximately 85 households during its monthly food distributions. “There are people who are in need and whose paychecks do not stretch to cover the cost of food,” Margaret said.

Canal Fulton Community Cupboard is unique in that it delivers food to individuals who cannot leave their homes. Groceries are delivered to 10 individuals in the community through volunteer efforts.

Because of its partnership with the Foodbank, Canal Fulton Community Cupboard is able to provide sustaining meals to its neighbors. “The Foodbank is an enormous resource for us,” said Margaret. “There’s so much food and so much variety.”

Thank you for your generous contributions that help support food programs in our network and our neighbors in need. Your donations help individuals and families in Canal Fulton have access to food and meals for their families.
