The Foodbank recently participated in the Walmart Fight Hunger Spark Change campaign. Walmart dedicated three million dollars to be donated to fifty Feeding America Foodbanks. Recipients were selected based on online votes collected from mid-September to early October.

Our Foodbank received thousands of votes, and as a result, was awarded $60,000 to support our Feeding Kids initiative.

The Feeding Kids initiative currently supports all Backpack programs through a specialized section of the menu featuring kid-friendly items. With continued grant support, agencies can serve more school age children over the weekend, when they do not have access to free or reduced priced meals at school.

The Foodbank is dedicated to continuing fundraising efforts to support our agency network. Other agency support in 2014 included grants for capacity building to expand PantryTrak, food grants directly to agencies, and free, grant funded food items on the menu.
