The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is proud to join forces with the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) and Feeding America to help Stamp Out Hunger across America on Saturday, May 14, 2016.

The United States Postal Service letter carriers deliver to 151 million addresses six days a week— from Alaska to Florida to right here in Northeast Ohio. But Saturday, May 14, 2016 will be different. Along with delivering mail, letter carriers across the country will also be collecting hope, by taking food donations from homes on their route to help feed local families facing hunger.

Now in its 24th year, Stamp Out Hunger has grown from a regional effort, to a national effort that provides assistance to the millions of Americans struggling to put food on the table.

To participate in the Stamp Out Hunger food drive:

  • Simply, leave a sturdy bag containing non-perishable foods such as canned soup, canned vegetables, pasta, rice, or cereal next to your mailbox prior to the time of regular mail delivery on Saturday, May 9.
  • Local letter carriers will collect these food donations as they deliver the mail and take them the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
