The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank will host its annual Holiday Campaign from Nov. 1 - Dec. 31, 2017. The campaign encourages people to come together to support those in the local community struggling with hunger.

The Foodbank believes every family deserves to share a holiday meal together. In the Foodbank’s 8-county service area, one in seven individuals struggle with hunger, and more than one in five children are food insecure. The Foodbank invites you to participate in its Holiday Campaign to help give a heart-warming meal this holiday season.

“The giving spirit of the holiday season inspires many in our community to turn the energy of their generosity into something charitable and meaningful,” said Dan Flowers, president and CEO of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. “We are incredibly grateful for all those participating in the Holiday Campaign. It raises vital funds needed to help our hungry neighbors, and give them hope for a holiday free-of-hunger.”

The goal of the Holiday Campaign is to motivate the community to get involved, whether it’s through volunteering, holding a food and funds drive or by making a monetary donation. All actions will help provide approximately 4 million meals to hungry families in the neighborhoods served by the Foodbank.

Many local businesses and organizations support the campaign by holding events to raise money and collect food for the Foodbank; and we invite you to participate, too.
