This September, during Hunger Action Month, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is joining the nationwide Feeding America network in calling on Northeast Ohio to come together once again to fight hunger in the region.

Everyone needs nutritious food to thrive, and in every community across our region, people are working hard to provide for themselves and their families. Yet, 1 in 7 people and 1 in 5 children in the Foodbank’s service area may struggle with hunger.
As the cost of essentials like groceries and energy continues to put pressure on household budgets, everyone can take action to help ensure their neighbors have access to the food they need to thrive.

This month, we rally together with 200 Feeding America food banks across the country to raise awareness and encourage action in the fight against hunger. Your voice, actions and commitment will help ensure every community has the food they need to thrive.

“Every day, we see the difference our community can make when people come together to support their neighbors,” said Foodbank President and CEO Dan Flowers. “Hunger Action Month is an opportunity for all of us to take that next step. Whether you donate, volunteer, advocate or raise awareness, your support helps make sure food is available to people who need it. We invite everyone across Northeast Ohio to play their part this September.”
