The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank announced it’s taking part in Walmart’s Fight Hunger. Spark Change. campaign, a national initiative that invites the public to take action in the fight to end hunger locally from March 28 to April 25, 2016.
In this year’s campaign, Walmart is working with some of the nation’s leading food companies and offering customers three easy ways to help families in need in their local communities:
- Donate at the register: You can donate to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, your Feeding America member food bank, at the checkout in any Walmart store in the Foodbank’s 8-county service area.
- Purchase participating products: For every purchase of specially marked products both in-store and online, you will help secure one meal on behalf of Feeding America member food banks.
- Share your support online: Share with the hashtag #FightHunger and Walmart will donate 90 cents, enough to help secure 10 meals through Feeding America member food banks up to $1.5 million.
