This past month, the Foodbank was proud to partner with The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company to host its second annual Week of Volunteering to encourage Goodyear associates to help build a better future in their communities. The Week of Volunteering reinforces the company’s commitment to volunteerism, aligning with its global corporate social responsibility strategy.

More than 160 associates joined the Foodbank in repackaging nearly 34,000 pounds of food and provided facility improvements at two of the Foodbank’s hunger-relief partner programs. Goodyear associates also supported the Foodbank through various skill-based volunteer activities and trainings in which Foodbankers were invited to attend.

The Foodbank is thankful for its partnership with Goodyear and the organization’s commitment to fighting hunger in our community. Goodyear’s relationship with the Foodbank began in 1988 and is an exemplary example of a strong, sustained partnership that provides support at a variety of levels. We were honored to recognize Goodyear as the Foodbank’s 2016 Corporate Volunteer of the Year Award winner for the magnitude of their involvement and appreciate the company’s long history of supporting the Foodbank with financial contributions as well as general and skills-based volunteerism.

Thank you, Goodyear! We appreciate you and your tireless work within our community!
