The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank has received many calls from concerned community members wondering how they can help the Foodbank during this time of uncertainty. The support we’ve received in response to COVID-19 is inspiring, and we’re grateful.
You can make a significant difference for those affected by COVID-19. Thanks to the generosity of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and an anonymous friend of the Foodbank, every gift made until Friday, March 20, 2020, will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $40,000. Every $20 you give can help provide 160 meals for families facing hardships.
As schools and places of business continue to close, hard-working families will struggle to afford daycare, to provide the missing meals their kids would have received at school, and some will go without a paycheck entirely. For families with limited resources and tight budgets, your Foodbank and our network of hunger-relief partners will be here to help.
We’re building emergency food boxes, creating senior food boxes and repackaging bulk soap, all with limited staff and volunteers. But our community is depending on us to provide food throughout our eight-county service area, and we’re determined to meet their needs.
