José still describes himself as a newlywed, even though he's been married a year. At the Love Center Food Pantry, he is soft spoken, but when talking about his wife, Idalila, a sense of pride spreads across his face.
Idalila is enrolled in nursing school, and their small family found themselves needing a little extra help to make it through the month. A friend knew of José's struggles and told him about the food pantry. The first time José visited, he couldn't believe the sense of community being created inside the Love Center's doors.
Leaving the food pantry, and the neighborhood that's helped them obtain bags full of fresh produce, breads, and canned goods, this couple is hopeful of their future; a future where as a nurse, Idalila will be proud to help those around her.
