As a proud member of Feeding America, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is extremely thankful to the many national supporters across the country who have provided support to food banks during the COVID-19 crisis. In particular, we are grateful to have received a $500,000+ grant from Amazon founder, President and CEO Jeff Bezos. Overall, Mr. Bezos donated $100 million to Feeding America, which has been distributed to food banks across the country.
Thanks to his generosity, we’ve been able to purchase nearly 500,000 meals which will provide important nourishment to food insecure families during our COVID-19 response. This support was timely and is making a significant impact on the Foodbank’s hunger-relief network. Thank you, Mr. Bezos!
