Because of the dedication of the 500 hunger-relief programs within your Foodbank’s network, we’re able to effectively and efficiently serve individuals and families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of these partner programs are managed by volunteers, retired community members committed to hunger relief.

On March 31, 2020, the Salvation Army in Windham received a semi-trailer of more than 16,000 pounds of food for free from the Foodbank, and in turn, served 150 families in need through its drive-through Direct Distribution. Direct Distributions are an innovative way to distribute large quantities of fresh, perishable food to communities in need of additional support. The food is quickly placed in the hands of people who need it most. Because of your support, the Foodbank is able to cover the cost of all the food and transportation. The Foodbank currently offers 11 Direct Distributions each month.
