The Charter One Foundation’s $10,000 donation will provide 800 Thanksgiving turkeys for area families in need.
To help thousands of Northeast Ohio residents enjoy a healthy holiday meal this season, The Charter One Foundation has donated $10,000 to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank as part of its Carving Out Hunger program.
The donation will provide more than 800 Thanksgiving turkeys – more than 7,000 meals – to local families in need.
“Charter One colleagues are again taking time this year to give thanks during the holiday season and volunteer at food banks throughout Ohio,” said Bob Lieb, Vice President, Regional Manager, Charter One. “Unfortunately, too many of our neighbors are going hungry and worrying about how to feed their children their next meal. We hope our partnership with the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank will make their holidays a little brighter this year.”

We are incredibly grateful for this donation, along with the time contributed by Charter One volunteers who have committed to making a tangible difference in the fight to end hunger.”
This year’s donation from the Charter One Foundation to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is part of a $100,000 commitment to food banks across Ohio. The Charter One Foundation has donated more than one million dollars during the past ten years for holiday food programs in Cleveland, Toledo, Akron-Canton and the Mahoning Valley.
Charter One’s parent company, Citizens Financial Group, announced earlier this year that Charter One will be renamed Citizens Bank by mid-year 2015.
