The Pantry Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of pantries within the Foodbank’s facilities. This position will perform a variety of tasks including stocking of the pantry, training and directing of volunteers, coordination of daily operations, and assisting with neighbor needs. The Pantry Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Direct Service Programs team to develop and refine the Foodbank’s approach to distributing groceries. May include evening and/or weekend hours.

Job Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank in accordance with USDA, ODJFS, AIB, and Feeding America standards.
• Responsible for site compliance and record keeping.
• Greet neighbors and assist them with the intake process through PantryTrak, our service insights platform.
• Train and oversee volunteers to fulfill pantry duties. This may include, but is not limited to, rotating stock, organizing shelves, and signing in neighbors for service.
• Maintain an on-going inventory of food items by ordering through Foodbank menu and entering data into OrderAhead, our inventory system.
• Connect neighbors with additional supports services through resource room partnerships.
• Maintain a clean and organized food distribution space.
• Work with Manager, Direct Service Programs and other programs staff to implement services that support the Foodbank’s mission, vision, and strategic plan.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience working or volunteering in a community-based setting interacting directly with the public; preferably in food pantry, restaurant, or retail.
• Ability to produce quality work and maintain records with accuracy.
• Experience training, supervising, and retaining volunteers is desired
• Culturally competent; ability to work effectively and patiently with diverse groups of individuals.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
