Foodbank partners with Medina County nonprofits to offer grocery distributions

Aug 08, 2022

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is partnering with a variety of Medina County nonprofits to offer grocery distributions to anyone in need of food resources.

On Saturday, the Foodbank and Matthew 25 Outreach Center will host a new grocery distribution from 10am-1pm at Cloverleaf Elementary School, located at 8337 Friendsville Road in Seville. This distribution will continue to take place the second Saturday of each month.

Another new distribution will take place on Aug. 16 from 9:30am-11am at St. Ambrose Catholic Works of Mercy, located at 929 Pearl Road in Brunswick. This distribution will continue to take place the third Tuesday of each month.

The Foodbank also hosts a grocery distribution with longtime partner Feeding Medina County the third Thursday of each month from 7:30am-9am at the Medina County Fairgrounds, located at 735 Lafayette Road in Medina. Feeding Medina County offers three additional food distributions. For more information, visit feedingmedinacounty.org.

Any community member in need of groceries can attend the food distributions; it is not limited to Medina County residents. Community members should bring a photo ID. There is no need to pre-register for these distributions.

“As inflation reaches a 40-year high, more families are making difficult decisions like choosing between buying groceries and other basic necessities, like medication, childcare, rent and more,” said Dan Flowers, Foodbank president and CEO. “We’re grateful for our network of hunger-relief partners who continue to collaborate with us in new and innovative ways to serve our communities.”
