Hunger Action Day of Service

The Foodbank is proud to celebrate its member hunger-relief programs like food pantries, hot meal sites and shelters. On Thursday, September 13, 2018 during Hunger Action Day of Service, scheduled volunteers will help complete requested projects, like reorganizing pantry shelves or painting a wall.

Good Samaritan Hunger Center (9am-12pm)
Cleaning and/or reorganizing food storage or service areas, then if time allows: yardwork

Grace UCC "Just In Time" Food Pantry (8am-12pm)
Great task for someone ready to do some heavy lifting - reorganizing storage areas and moving heavy boxes - moving food with dollies

Upper Room Cultural Dev. Corp. (9am-11am)
Cleaning and/or reorganizing, Landscaping/yardwork/gardening. Be prepared to get dirty and dusty!

The Pavilion Of Praise Baptist (8am-12pm)
Cleaning and/or reorganizing food storage or service areas, Landscaping/yardwork/gardening

Asian Services In Action, Inc. (1-4pm)
Breaking down boxes from a recent move, weeding, moving furniture, cleaning and/or reorganizing

Holy Trinity (time tbd)
Cleaning and/or reorganizing food storage or service areas, Landscaping/yardwork/gardening, Also Family Promise and clothing areas

He Brought Us Out Ministry/North Hill Community House (time tbd)
Paint community house kitchen

Lodi Family Center (time tbd)
The old kitchen and storage areas off the kitchen need cleaned so we can prepare for cooking equipment to be installed. Our goal is to be able to create four cooking stations where we can teach people to can, freeze, cook and bake. Also, the teens would like to have a "Teen Battle Chef" competition team.  This project may include Painting, Cleaning and/or reorganizing food storage or service areas

North Canton Church of Christ (12-4pm)
Bagging 1,000 to 2,000 bags of groceries depending on number of volunteers

VANTAGE Aging (9am-12pm)
Portioning and packaging meals for our low income homebound seniors
