The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank requires all new member agencies to participate in a member agency orientation. At least one agency representative must attend this orientation; however we do encourage the new member agency to send the “key personnel” from their program to the orientation. “Key personnel” would include staff and/or volunteers responsible for ordering, storing, cooking and distributing the food obtained from the Foodbank.
New member orientations are held at the Foodbank on a mutually agreed upon day and time. The orientation includes detailed information on the process necessary to maintain membership including the following topics:
History of the Foodbank
Picking up Orders
Completing Documentation Necessary for Reporting Purposes
Food Safety and Recalls
Billing and Payment Procedures
In addition handouts are provided and time for questions is built into the
New Member agencies will also receive their membership cards and a tour of the Foodbank facility.
