If you enjoy helping people and desire to be a part of an award winning team, this is your job!  The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank seeks an energetic and positive individual to serve as a mission ambassador in the eight counties that we serve.  The Donor Partnership Route Driver plays a vital role in providing access to donated foods throughout Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, & Wayne counties.  This full-time position interacts with established local food donors, retailers, manufacturers, and facilities with emphasis on partnership and relationship building by transporting goods on behalf of the Foodbank.  Position responsibilities also include communication, documentation, record keeping and overall compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as compliance with Feeding America and the American Institute of Baking (AIB) regulations.  A high degree of professionalism, customer service, commitment, availability, flexibility, and dependability is essential for success in this position.  

Additionally, the minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma and three to five years of professional truck driving experience, preferably in a grocery or food-related environment encompassing sales and customer relations; valid Ohio Class A driver’s license; ability to build positive relationships with food donors, Foodbank employees, and community constituents; knowledge of DOT regulations and CSA requirements; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis and to safely operate related powered equipment in a warehousing environment.

  • Shift:  M-F, 6am – 3pm with some overtime opportunities and flexibility to work weekends

  • Fleet Equipment:  Modern, 2015 and 2016 Model Day Cabs, Cascadia Freightliners, Automatic, Disc Brakes, Premium Interior

  • On-Site Fueling and Routine Preventive Maintenance Services
  • Loading Equipment:  Powered loading jacks are supplied
  • Routes:  8 – 10 daily stops, 100 – 150 miles/ day, 20,000 – 30,000 lbs. of Food Rescued
  • Compensation:  Base plus annual incentive, with merit increase opportunities as a result of performance
