Harvest for Hunger

One in seven in our area are at risk of hunger. In an effort to combat the issue of hunger in our area, we are asking you to join us in combining resources for hunger relief by participating in the 2014 Harvest for Hunger campaign.

This spring, the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank will host the 23rd annual Harvest for Hunger campaign. Harvest for Hunger is a partnership between four food banks that serve 21 counties in Ohio. This collaboration represents one of the largest food and funds drives in the country and is also the Foodbank’s largest fundraising campaign, which helps support food distribution all year long.

There are many ways you can support the campaign and help us in our mission to Feed People and Fight Hunger. The goal of this year’s Harvest for Hunger campaign is the largest and most aggressive in Foodbank history. With the support of the community and individuals like you, the Foodbank will raise more than $1 million.

Join hundreds of local companies, schools, faith-based organizations, governmental bodies, and social groups in hosting a food & funds drive to help those in need in our community. It's easy! We need your support to feed people in need right here in our community. Hunger affects children, seniors, the disabled and even working adults. In our community, as many as 180,000 people rely on the Foodbank for emergency food assistance each year. Many have to face tough decisions like whether to pay their heating bills or buy groceries. They turn to the Foodbank and its agencies in their time of need.

Donate Money
A tax-deductible gift is always welcome, which can be made online or via postal mail marked Harvest for Hunger. For every $1 that you donate, the Foodbank can provide four meals for the hungry!

Donate Food
The demand for emergency food is high, and we need your help. Food donations are welcome, especially the Super Six most needed food items: boxed cereal, peanut butter, canned tuna, canned vegetables, canned beef stew and canned soup.

Donate Time
The help volunteers supply is real, tangible, and relied on by more than 180,000 different people who benefit annually from the food we provide. Please visit our Volunteer Opportunities page, or contact our volunteer department at 330.777.7579 to find the volunteer opportunity that is right for you.

We want to make sure your food & funds drive is a success, so we've provided a few downloadable resources that might help. Click the button below to access our online Harvest for Hunger resources.
