Harvest for Hunger Idol

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank hosted the third annual Harvest for Hunger Idol competition Wednesday March 24th, and for the third year Summa Health System takes home the title. Performers from local businesses and organizations that held Harvest for Hunger food and funds drives competed to raise money to support hunger-relief efforts. Guests of the event voted for their Favorite performance by making donations.

This year nine performers competed for the title. Performers included, Idol champion, Sandra Heard from Summa Health Systems, John Beacham from Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority, Greg Chaplin from Bridgestone Americas, Kyle Lanford from Allstate Insurance, Frank Taormina II from the Akron Beacon Journal, Mikel Lagaras from Akron Children's Hospital, Barbara Clugh from FirstEnergy Corporation, Robert Hunt, Sr. from County of Summit and the group Just Love to Sing from Akron Public Schools.
