Information Systems Coordinator

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank seeks an energetic and driven IT professional to serve as our Information Systems Coordinator. This is a new and exciting role for the organization, focused on the development, implementation, maintenance and support of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank’s comprehensive computer-based information systems.

Primary responsibilities include computer hardware and software management, desktop solutions, strategic technology planning, and IT compliance. Additionally, this position will be the single source of IT support for the organization serving as a liaison to all department leaders and external vendors/ consultants which requires extraordinary communication and relationship building skills, and the ability to successfully interact with internal and external stakeholders. The Information Systems Coordinator sets a vital tone of efficiency, leadership and information systems competence to identify, recommend, develop, and implement cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.

Additional requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in information/ computer systems technology, or 3-5 years of experience in the computer science field; strong skills in the areas of project management, relationship building, leadership, organization, communication, analytics and discretionary judgment; in depth knowledge of telecommunications, network and PC operating systems including application support, and infrastructure planning and development.


Director, Operations

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank seeks a charismatic and results oriented leader to serve on the Senior Management Team as Director of Operations. This mission critical role oversees the comprehensive food distribution of dry, refrigerated and frozen goods totaling 21.6 million pounds (which includes 6 million in produce) in 2012. The Director of Operations will have responsibility for safeguarding the operational strength in receiving, storing and distributing food to approximately 500 agency programs across eight-counties in Northeastern Ohio.

Primary responsibilities include total quality management and process management of food warehouse operations, inventory management, reclamation-salvage processing, and building maintenance. Additionally, this position participates in the strategic planning process and ensures that operational and warehouse processes are in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws as well as Feeding America and American Institute of Baking guidelines. This position sets a vital tone of efficiency, leadership and inventory systems competence to identify, recommend, develop, and implement cost-effective operational solutions for the organization.

Job requirements include a Bachelor's Degree and 5-10 years of operations management experience - food warehousing and distribution strongly preferred with a heavy emphasis on the handling of fresh produce; strong skills in the areas of relationship building, leadership, organization, communication, analytics and discretionary judgment; in depth knowledge of food inventory management processes and related systems; infrastructure planning and development are key components of success in this role.
